The first seat of the Congregation in Albania anniversary

On May 12, the central event took place in Gjader, the first seat of the Congregation in Albania of 25th anniversary celebration. It was a special day for us, the Venerini Sisters, because we remembered, in the presence of both Albanian and Italian civil authorities, priests, nuns, benefactors, teachers, students, alumni, “ambassadors of peace”, families and many faithful of our mission, the gifts of grace that the Lord has wanted to bestow on ours in recent years. We also remembered, with a publication in Italian and Albanian, the sisters who carried out their apostolate here, Don Antonio Sciarra who promoted our presence and many young people who we met and guided and who are now doing their profession at homeland and abroad. The significant and very successful recital “Educate to liberate” presented by the young people of the Oratory, highlighted the educational charisma that the congregation has carried out and continues to perform for the benefit of the youth of the area, in particular in the oratory, in the “Ambassadors of Peace” association and in Rozalba House. Dances, songs and several interventions in which children, young people and adults were the protagonists, cheered up the evening. For the occasion, the deputy mayor of Lezhë delivered a certificate of gratitude to sr. Enrica
Giovannini who for several years was the first person in charge of the community, when 25 years ago arrived in Albania, and inspired with Don Antonio of many initiatives among young people. The recognition, as the deputy mayor also pointed out, is a sign of appreciation that is growing
in the presence and service of all the Venerini Pious Masters in Albania. The day ended with a rich buffet prepared generously by the women of the village of Gjader and accompanied by youth music and dances.
